Nos storia | About us
Café Restaurant Yanti opened its doors in 2007, founded by Arnold and Ria, a Surinamese couple with a passion for good food and a dream to create something of their own. What started in a small location in Dakota moved to Camacuri, then to L.G. Smith Boulevard, and finally found its home on Wilhelminastraat. The name “Yanti” comes from our two daughters, Shrijanti and Rianti, which reflects how family has always been at the core of the restaurant.
Today, Café Restaurant Yanti is a cozy spot filled with plants, personal touches, and cultural pieces that reflect our Surinamese and Indonesian roots. You’ll find traditional artwork, wayang dolls, and a warm, welcoming vibe. All of our food is cooked fresh each day by the two owners using recipes they’ve learned from family and from each other over the years. Our saté, kip (stew chicken), and roti dishes are especially popular with locals, who keep coming back for the flavor and comfort. Even though we’re located off the beaten path, new guests continue to find us thanks to the kind words and recommendations of our regulars.
